The journal “STUDII SI CERCETARI DE GEOFIZICA” (formerly STUDII SI CERCETARI DE GEOLOGIE, GEOFIZICA, GEOGRAFIE, SERIA GEOFIZICA) was founded in 1963 by the Romanian Academy. It appeared under its first name until 1964 and received the present name in 1990. It is now published in one volume a year (1 issue of about 140 pages).
The Journal publishes original research studies, short notes and comments, as well as books and web page reviews in the fields of: geodesy and gravity, seismology and physics of the Earth’s interior, geomagnetism and aeronomy, atmosphere physics, hydrology, remote sensing as research instrument, exploration geophysics (seismics, gravity, magnetometry, electrometry, radiometry, logging, remote sensing as exploration instrument), equipment, data processing, history. Information on scientific life, abstracts and proceedings of national/international conferences held in Romania. In Memoriam of outstanding geophysicists are published as well.
The journal is addressed to geophysicists and geologysts, involved on research, teaching and/or applied geophysics activity, as well as to advanced and graduate students.
The journal is exchanged with about 350 partners from abroad.Copyright information

Authors are invited to submit suitable manuscripts in duplicate to the Editorial Board, Studii si Cercetari de Geofizica, 19-21 J.L. Calderon Str., 020032, Bucharest-37, Romania
Submission of an article is understood to imply that the article is original and unpublished and it is not being considered for publication elsewhere.
All manuscripts are refereed, those not accepted for publication are not returned to the authors.
Language: papers in Romanian, English, French, German and Russian are accepted.
Preparation of the text:
The manuscript should be prepared on a word processor and printed with double spacing and wide margins; the final (revised) version of the paper must be submitted also on diskette.
The title page should include: the title (upper case bold letters), Name(s) of author(s) (upper case letters) and their affiliations (italic), all centered. The various headings should be clearly differentiated and first order headings (upper case bold letters) should be numbered and centered. An abstract in Romanian, including the paper, title and authors, must be added at the end. If the paper is in Romanian, the abstract must be in one of the other four languages mentioned above.
References
All references cited in the text are to be listed at the end of the paper. In the text refer to the author’s name (without initials) and year of publication; if reference is made in the text to publications written by more than two authors the name of the first author should be used, followed by “et al.”. This indication, however, should never be used in the list of references. In this list names of authors and all co-authors must be given in full.
The list of references should be arranged alphabetically by author’s names and chronologically per author. Examples of the style for journal article, whole book, and chapter in special publication.

Tables should be compiled on separate sheets. A title should be provided for each table (centered) and they should be referred to in the text and numbered according to their sequence in the text. Explanations that are necessary to the understanding of the table should be given as footnotes at the bottom of the table.
Illustration
Illustrations must be presented separate from the manuscript, unfolded. They must be sharp and draughted at high density on bright white paper, on glossy paper or on drawing film.
All illustrations must be numbered consecutively and referred to in the text.
The lettering and other details must have dimensions that do not become illegible after reduction.
Figure captions should be supplied on a separate sheet.
Abbreviated title. An abbreviated title, which will be used as a running head, should accompany all articles. It should consist of no more than 72 characters (including spaces).

Aims and Scope
The journal REVUE ROUMAINE DE GEOPHYSIQUE (formerly REVUE ROUMAINE DE GÉOLOGIE, GÉOPHYSIQUE ET GÉOGRAPHIE, SERIE DE GÉOPHYSIQUE) was founded in 1957 by the Romanian Academy. Abstract. An abstract of not more than 500 words, written in another language than of the paper, is included at the beginning of the article. The title in the abstract language (italics) is followed by the abstract text without space. No paragraph indents are allowed in the abstract text.
