The monastery is located on a small isolated island in the middle of Snagov Lake and is the reputed burial place of Vlad Tepes, also known as Dracula. Don't let yourself be taken in by the imposing forest and the nice lake surrounding the island or by the generous architecture of the monastery. The secrets are there and when the strong winds rummage the deep waters the frightful sound of ringing bells of the old sunk church, built here by Vlad the Impaler's grandfather Mircea cel Batran, reveal them to a cautioned ear. The island and the monastery witnessed throughout the centuries lots of crimes and dramas. Continue to the town of Urlati and the Urlateanu Manor which is a charming villa on the top of the hill with wine storage capacity in oak barrels. Tour the small cellars where you will also taste 5 assortments of wine while the vinification process will be explained. Her you will also serve a traditional Romanian lunch after which you will head back to Bucharest. On the way stop in Mogosoaia built in 1702 by ruler Constantin Brancoveanu in what is known as Romanian Renaissance or Brancovenesc style, a combination of Venetian and Ottoman elements. The complex consists of the St. George church erected in 1688, the greenhouse built by French architects in 1890, the watchtower, the kitchen and the palace itself which houses the Museum of Brancoveanu Art and Architecture. Evening return to Bucharest where you will have free time at leisure. You will find more details about the Snagov monastery at: http://www.kismetdao.com/blogs/2011/12/28/snagov-monastery-romania-the-burial- place-of-vlad-the-impaler.htmland about Mogosoaia Palace at:http://www.mydestination.com/romania/things-to-do/164887/mogosoaia--palacehttp://www.palatebrancovenesti.ro/bkp/en/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=12&Itemid=1Snagov Monastery Mogosoaia PalaceConference dinner (Thursday, 4 October):Conference dinner will take place at Bistro Jaristea: www.bistrojaristea.roAddress: 5 Henri Coanda, St., corner with Bd.
