CRUSTAL REFLECTION SEISMIC PROFILING ON A SHORT LINE
FROM NE AREA OF PANNONIAN DEPRESSION
(Abstract)
Deep seismic reflection profiling was applied on a short line from the NE
last part of the Pannonian Depression (N-Oradea). Although the field work parameters
have not been adjusted to the crustal objectives (small explosives, short spreads),
the time section displays relevant data.
The analyses of the stack velocities, the true amplitudes and the reflectivity
together with the crustal data of this area helped us to create a local crustal
model.
The reflectivity analyses point out the short reflectors and suggest a cool
and brittle crust, model.
The reflectivity analyses point out the short reflectors and suggest a cool
and brittle crust, less affected by the Alpine tectono-thermal activity.
Key words: deep seismic profiling, crustal reflectivity, amplitude analyses,
crustal model.
