AN "INTRA-CARPATHIAN ANTICYCLOGENESIS" SITUATION
(Abstract)
The paper presents a special atmospheric situation from the point of view
of the distribution of the meteorological parameters in Romania's area which
is caused by the occurrence of a warm western advection over preexistent cold
air masses.
The process could be defined as an "intra-Carpathian anticyclogenesis".
Thus, the ground pressure field is disturbed by the development of a sequence
from the West to the East of a through in the Hungarian steppe, a ridge in
Romania's central part with closed isobars in Transylvania and a trough on
the Eastern branch of the romanian Carpathians.
In the temperature field, extremely strong gradients occur between Transylvania
and the extra-Carpathian areas (about 10° between Tg. Mures and Iasi, Bucuresti
or Arad). Accordingly, the differences in the weather aspect are remarkable.
The paper also refers to the frequency of occurrence of such a meteorological
situation.
Key words: meteorological situation, intra-carpathian anticyclogenesis, Romania.
