ELABORATION OF THE BOUGUER GRAVITY MAP
WITH VARIABLE DENSITIES OF THE BABADAG BASIN
(Abstract)
The Bouguer gravity map of the North Dobrogea, calculated for the unique
density of 2.65 g/cm3, points out some supracompensantion effects on the area
of the Babadag basin. With a view to eliminating those distorsions, a Bouguer
gravity map has been built with variable densities, through Vajk method, for
the area of this basin. For this purpose, it has been established the Bouguer
density distribution, using 59 Nettleton type profiles. Because of the particular
geological conditions, the authors have used a simplified form of the mentioned
method, adapted to a semiautomatic calculation system.
Key words: the Bouguer map, variable densities, the Vajk method, the North
Dobrogea.
