CONTRIBUTION TO THE PROBLEM OF ANALYTICAL DESCRIPTION OF THE POTENTIAL FIELD ANOMALIES
3. DIMENSIONS AND PHYSICAL SIGNIFICANCES OF SOME SYNTHETICAL MAGNITUDES DETERMINED
USING THE ANALYTICAL DESCRIPTION ALONG PROFILES OF GRAVITY ANOMALIES
(Abstract)
Using the analytical description along profiles of the gravity anomalies,
practical formulae to calculate the amplitude spectrum A()
and the energy E of the process g(x) were established. The analysis of these
magnitudes, related
to the gravity anomalies, shows that A(
)
has potential dimensions (L
•T
)
and E has the dimensions of an unknown magnitude in Science or Technics (L
•T
).
The result of this analysis allows to taken off a very interesting conclusion:
using the Fourier transform and coming back in the space domain, the gravity
anomaly g(x) reveals having a structure as a sum of sinusoidal oscillations
of an unknown gravity magnitude about which our single knowledge is that it
has potential dimensions.
These magnitudes were calculated for a profile crossing the Merceasa gravity
anomaly. No particular properties of A() and E for the geological interpretation
of the gravity anomalies were distinguished.
