SEISMIC TRACE RESAMPLING
Abstract
In the digital recording of the seismic data the sampling interval is 1,
2, 4 or 8 msec. depending upon the highest frequency of the seismic signal.
Often, to increase the speed of data processing a changing of the sampling
rate is used (for instance from 2 msec. to 4 msec.). This paper is an attempt
to present the resampling theory of the seismic data.
In the first part the sampling theory and aliasing phenomenon are presented.
The method to resample the seismic trace with a different interval is the content
of the second part.
The design of a digital minimum phase antialiasing filter is presented in the
last part.
