The concept of effective permeability, statistical but not causal, introduced
for sake of mathematical commodity (keeping of the rich mathematical apparature
gained in the interpretation of the homogeneous flows) has nowadays proved
to be inadequate because:
1) the frequent necessity of remakes of the oil reservoir behaviour forecasts,
2) the inadequate results of the interpretations of the pressure build-up curves,
3) the incapacity of explain the (always partial) productivity recovery of
the damaged wells.
The author proposes a new type of law (see eq. (5) and fig. 3 and 4), physically
justified.
Key words: heterogeneous flow, effective permeability, porous media.
