The paper presents the most important cases of geological structures with
variable density, pointing out the importance of knowing such variations for
a correct geological interpretation of the gravity anomalies. The content of
this paper is a result of many trials performed in Romania which have indicated
three available procedures for the interpretation of gravity anomalies produced
by structures with variable density, showing at the same time their possibilities
and limitations in practical applications.
