ASPECTS REGARDING THE HYDROGEN INDEX (HI) VARIATION FOR DRILLING MUD
(Abstract)
Neutron logs are principally used for determinations of the porosity of formations.
The primarily respond to the amount of hydrogen in medium (the hydrogen index
HI). This medium contains borehole (environmental effects: hole diameter, mud-type,
mud-cake) and formations. The response of the neutron logs has a dependence
on the HI of the mud. This paper presents a few aspects of various HI mod function
of the mud density and pH index. As well the paper presents the influence of
the HI of the mod column for porosity determination.
