APPLYING REMOTE SENSING TECHNIQUES AND
GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATIONAL SYSTEM (GIS)
IN THE FIELD OF GEOSCIENCES
(Abstract)
The paper presents a series of demonstrative examples regarding both the utility
and efficiency of applying remote sensing and geographic information system
and the multi-informational character of satellite and aerial images for approaching
and solving some complex and variate problems in different fields of human
activity.
The presented examples refer mainly to the fields of geology (structure, tectonics,
forecast) geomorphology (erosion, land slides, modification of sea shores),
agriculture (soils, humidity, forestry (vegetation, health state, maturity),
environmental monitoring and protection (pollution lignite quarries, atmospheric
emission, differentiating the ecoregions, biophysical land occupation), as
well as building materials (sand and gravel).
Key words: remote sensing, GIS, LANDSAT, MKS-4, aerial images, processing,
identifying, locating, forecasting, geosciences.
