IMAGE PROCESSING BY USE OF THE ERDAS SYSTEM FOR GEOLOGIC PURPOSES
(Abstract)
This paper presents the possibilities of satellite image processing using
the ERDAS (Earth Resources Data Analysis System) in enhancing the interesting
characteristic of images for geologic applications.
The method of directional derivative was applied in order to detect the lineaments
which can be interpreted as structural elements. A new form of derivative named "symmetrical
amplification derivative" was experimented.
The method was applied in the western Fagaras Mts.
