DIRECT AND INDIRECT INTERPRETATION OF THE SEISMIC FACIES
WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO THE PANNONIAN SEQUENCE
OF THE ORADEA – INAND AREA
(Abstract)
We have evidented and mapped in the surface-area lower seismic facies unit
specific to the gravitational sedimentation of the bottom of the basin and
an upper seismic facies unit exclusively recognized by the oblique facies configuration
and the sigmoid facies with down-lap basal terminations suggesting a depositional
regression.
The south-western graded progradation of the margin of the Pannonian Bassinhas
also been highlighted.
Based on the seismic facies maps and their interpreted environments, we have
predicted the possibilities of development of the reservoir rocks.
The associated presence of certain signature anomalies of reflections supports
the possible existence of stratigraphically closed traps at the progradational
facies units in the undaform and clinoform low areas of the sigmoid configuration.
We also suppose the existence of closed traps and roll-over anticlines or normal
detachment faults in the lower seismic facies unit at the bottom of the Lower
Pannonian.

traps.
