NEW K-Ar AGES OF THE METAMORPHIC FORMATIONS FROM THE CENTRAL PART
OF THE EASTERN CARPATHIANS' CRYSTALLINE-MESOZOIC BELT
(Abstract)
The paper presents 30 new K-Ar ages obtained on samples belonging to the pre-Hercynian metamorphic series from the central part of the Eastern Carpathians' crystalline-mesozoic belt. The K-Ar age pattern reveals the influence of the Hercynian orogeny upon the Bretila, Tulghes and Negrisoara series as well as the overprint of the Rebra and Negrisoara series by the Alpine orogeny.
