DEPOSITIONAL PROCESSES AND SYNDEPOSITIONAL STRUCTURES
IN THE SEDIMENTARY FORMATIONS OF THE PANNONIAN DEPRESSION
(Abstract)
Deducing depositional sequences and lithological facies from seismic section
analysis is a useful tool in the study of sedimentary basins.
Seismic section analysis permitted the separation of the main depositional
sequences in the sedimentary overburden of the Pannonian Depression. Typical
configurations were pointed out for the growth structures, such as cryptodiapirs,
growth faults and rollover anticlines, as well as shale slumps. Large delta
configurations were also outlined.
