THE USE OF THE EARTH'S NATURAL ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELD FOR THE
ELABORATION OF THE CARPATHIANS' ARC BEND STRUCTURAL MODEL
(Abstract)
A total of 14 magnetotelluric soundings were made along 130 kilometers across the Carpathian Arc Bend. Spectral analysis of digitized analog records was used to determine apparent resistivities for periods in the range 10 – 3600 seconds. The plotted resistivities interpretation indicates that the geoelectric section to depths of the order of 250 kilometers is divided into three principal layers. Finally, a possible structural model of the Vrancea region is discussed.
