(Abstract)

There are reported and illustrated by six Figures in the text and a synthetizing Table, the thermometric results obtained in 15 borings in the south-western part of Romania's Western Plain, drilled on two complex geological structures, revealed geophysically (seismically). From the "thermodiagram" analysis of these borings result the following types of information of scientific and practical interest: (1) recording of a positive pillar of temperature in the neighbourhood of a permeable oil or thermal waters horizon; (2) recording of a minimum of temperature at the crossing of a permeable natural gas bearing horizon, the natural gaz horizon under pressure; (3) drawing to some segments up to several hundred meters with subnormal variations of the geothermal gradient followed by temperature minima corresponding to the crossed permeable CO2 horizon under pressure (instances in which carbon dioxide, a bad thermoconductor, is very likely to behave like a thermic screen), and (4) temperature maxima and minima correlatable to permeable cold water or natural gas, or thermal waters or hot hydrocarbon bearing horizons.
