PRELIMINARY DATA REGARDING THE PHYSICAL PARAMETERS FOUND
AT GREAT DEPTH AND GEOLOGICAL CONSIDERATIONS ON THEIR ACCOUNT
(Abstract)
The complex analysis of about 300 mechanical core samples and the working
up of 35 pressure and temperature measurements, allowed to find out that the
4000 – 6000 m interval, a slight variation of the physical parameters
appears, as for example the specific weight, porosity and permeability of rocks,
bottom temperature and pressure. This variation is due to the compactness of
rocks, associated with processes of cementation and recrystallization.
The main factors which work, in depth, over the values of physical parameters
to a greater extent than the compactness (increasing of depth are the petrographical
and geochemical factors. To a certain extent the age of geological formations
interferes, too.
The sedimentary deposits reached on the 4000 – 6500 m interval often
provide with reservoirs with good properties, under conditions of non-prohibitive
pressure and temperature.
