FORTRAN IV PROGRAMS FOR APPLICATION OF A STATISTICAL METHOD FOR
THE DETECTION OF WEAK GEOPHYSICAL ANOMALIES AGAINST A NOISY
BACKGROUND
(Abstract)
Application of statistical methods of analysis of geophysical data is helpful
for weak anomalies against a noisy background.
The author presents same FORTRAN IV program for profile intercorrelation and
statistical summation of geophysical measurements.
These programs, for the application of the "BITANIS" (Bhimasankaran,
Tarkhov, Nikitin and Seshagiri Rao, 1973) method, were used for the detection
and the determination of the strike of the resistivity anomalies in Baile Turtului
area (Tarna Mare, Muntii Oas).
This test shows the validity of these programs and the advantage of the practical
procedures of statistical methods for the determination of the geophysical
anomalies against a noisy background (fig. 3a including the measured values
in comparison with fig. 3b including the analysed values).
