THE XIII-TH SYMPOSIUM OF EARTH'S PHYSICS
AND APPLIED GEOPHYSICS

The Academy of the Socialist Republic of Romania, in co-operation with the Ministry of Geology, organized the XIIIth Symposium of Earth's Physics and Applied Geophysics and the IInd National Exhibition of instruments in the corresponding fields between 14 and 16 March1985.
In the opening session, after the greeting speech pronounced by acad. Radu Voinea, President of the Academy of the Socialist Republic of Romania, acad. Sabba Stefanescu, President of the Romanian National Committee of Geodesy and Geophysics and dr. Ioan Folea, Minister of Geology underlined in their speeches the significance of the Symposium and wished it all the success.
The sessions of the Symposium, chaired by members and corresponding members of the Academy, were held in three sections:
First Section: Geophysical investigations for energy resources and engineering geophysics (chairman professor Radu Botezatu, corresponding member of the Academy);
Second Section: Geophysical investigations for solid mineral substances (chairman acad. Sabba Stefanescu),
Third Section: Earth's Physics and Geodesy researches (chairman professor Liviu Constantinescu, corresponding member of the Academy).
In order to give the interested specialists the possibility to become acquainted with the main directions of development of the scientific researches in the fields of Earth's physics and applied geophysics, the abstracts of papers and short presentations of the instruments on display are given in the following, each abstract being accompanied by the keywords for a better outlining of the area of interest.
