The present paper is in the line of the modelling attempts regarding the
sources of the gravity anomalies, given the most complicated geological situations.
Out of the various possibilities offered by the literature of speciality, the
authors of this paper have chosen the Plaumann process, considering that it
meets a series of qualities: it is easy to work with, flexible, precise enough
and provides an acceptable compromise between the simplification of the model
and reality.
In more complicated geological situation it can be used in combination with
other solutions of physical interpretation such as the approximation of the
disturbing bodies by means of finite vertical cylinders.
