Starting from an experimental relationship between the sensitivity of a mineralized core and its polarizability, a mathematical modelling method of mineral ore deposits is established for the resistivity and the induced polarization methods. The method proved to be fully efficient both in checking the possibilities of different prospecting devices and in verifying the interpretation of the field measurements. Finally, we present some examples of mathematical modelling and compare them with the results of the physical models. The identity of the results confirms the correctness of the initial assumptions used for building the mathematical model.
